Jennifer John

Jennifer John is a creative dynamo. Whether as Business Woman of the Year for Arts and Culture, the co founder of award-winning music company Sense of Sound and manager of its namesake – Sense of Sound Singers, the stunning a cappella ensemble – her work as a singer/songwriter, performer, choir director, vocal arranger, teacher, workshop leader, mentor, manager and business woman is awesome.

She brings a contagious passion and energy to all of her work and believes strongly that singing is a universal language that encourages community cohesion and healthy collaborations.

Our musical directors are Kat Stark and Jessie Maryon Davies.

Jessie regularly leads creative song-writing and composition projects for Spitalfields Music, Royal Opera House, Southbank Centre, Wigmore Hall and Aurora Orchestra. She trained as a pianist at the Royal Academy of Music and plays keys in a 90s cover band.

Kat has been leading choirs for 15 years. Having led community choirs and vocal groups from a young age, Kat honed her skills leading a gospel choir in Coventry between 2001-2004 and had the opportunity to learn from the incredible London Community Gospel Choir. In 2009, Kat and a group of friends founded LIPS Choir.

Rosie Bergonzi

Rosie is one of London’s up and coming percussionists. Currently studying a Masters in Percussion at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Rosie loves a wide range of percussion instruments and musical styles. Rosie’s beats will offer live accompaniment to the original arrangements we’ll be learning and performing!

This event is for people who self-identify as female, trans, and gender-non-conforming. You must be 18 and over. No need for previous experience!
